Fifteen years ago, I came to Australia with my little daughter as the spouse of an international student, full of dreams of a new beginning and reuniting with my husband. But instead of joy, I faced loneliness, cultural shock, financial struggles, and the heartbreak of leaving behind a comfortable life. Sleeping on a thin comforter on the floor in Sydney, sharing space with strangers, hiding my pain behind a smile, and feeling disconnected from my true self, I doubted my worth and lost all confidence. When we moved to a small country town as the only Muslim family, bullying, isolation, and mistreatment pushed me to my breaking point. One dark day, I even questioned if life was worth living until a vision of my late father and grandfather reminded me of my strength and worth.

That moment sparked the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
From that day forward, I chose to heal myself, one step at a time. I reconnected with my true self, discovered strength I didn’t know I had, and transformed my life from the inside out. As I healed, my marriage and relationships healed too, rebuilt on love, respect, and trust.
Today, I live with joy, connection, and a deep sense of purpose. I share my story because
